For Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum
A selection of unique pieces hand-painted in canvas, marked by abstract brushes overlayed by geometric color blocks.
Nina Mûr proudly returns to Thyssen-Bornemizsa Museum, this time finding inspiration in Hans Hofmann’s work to launch a singular collection that reinterpretates the pictorial nuances of the Abstract Expressionism Movement.
The disintegration of the aesthetic elements involving the application of new materials and techniques form the major concept of this project.
Hans Collection names the selection of the greatest pieces that resulted from the experimentation created around the concept.
A collaboration based on creativity and search for artistic richness, through the use of traditional techniques combined with contemporary elements.

Inspiration & Concept
Details of Renate Series by Hans Hofmann, 1965
Hans Hofmann (March 21, 1880 – February 17, 1966) was a German-born American painter, renowned as an artist and teacher in a career that spanned two generations and two continents, and is considered to have both preceded and influenced Abstract Expressionism.
Hofmann’s art is generally distinguished by its rigorous concern with pictorial structure and unity, development of spatial illusion through the “push and pull” of color, shape and placement, and use of bold, often primary color for expressive means.
The main concept behind the collection: Hand-painted abstract brushes on canvas, with overlapping color blocks.
